Compliance with Republic Act No. 10173, otherwise known as the Data Privacy Act ("DPA"), its Implementing Rules and Regulations ("IRR"), and the National Privacy Commission's ("NPC") issuance is now in full swing. The NPC has begun conducting checks on companies, both local and foreign, whose personal data processing activities are covered by the law. The areas for compliance include internal privacy governance, the conduct of privacy risk assessments, data security, third-party risk mitigation and data breach management. Course Director & Lecturer: Atty. Juan Paolo F. Fajardo --has helped many local and multinational companies with the implementation of the Data Privacy Act. He is a skilled legal practitioner in Data Privacy Assessment and Compliance, Arbitration, Law Enforcement, and Dispute Resolution. His academic qualifications include having finished his Masters of Law with special focus on Information Privacy and Competition Law at Columbia Law School, New York; Juris Doctor Degree at University of the Philippines; and Bachelor of Arts, Major in Economics at the Ateneo de Manila University. He is a Partner at Fajardo Law Offices.

Guest Resource Person: Atty. Ivy D. Patdu, MD - is one of the longest serving Deputy Commissioners at the National Privacy Commission. She is a physician, a lawyer and a health privacy advocate. She will provide updates on NPC regulations and be part of the Q & A segment.
