Course Outline

Part I - Execution Premium Process (XPP)* Concepts and Processes
Discover how the XPP solves the challenge of strategy implementation. Learn the XPP terminology, the four perspectives, and the importance of cause and effect linkages, the six-step development process, and the standard project timetable.

Part II - Process Preparation and Strategy Mapping
Master the strategy mapping process by defining strategic themes, identifying objectives, and developing cause and effect relationships between objectives.

Part III - Strategy Mapping Workshop Exercise
Each breakout group will identify and discuss possible themes for a draft organizational strategy map and the pros and cons of different methods of dividing the strategy map.The facilitator will lead a group discussion of the learning from the exercise.

Part IV - Identify Measures & Targets
Learn the unique use of measures and targets in XPP design “to communicate, not to control.” Understand the distinction between lead and lag measures, the criteria that should be used when selecting measures, and the challenges presented by measures development.

Specifically, this section will cover:

          • Creating measures and identifying targets;
          • Using measures in alignment and monitoring; and
          • Modifications on the measures and initiatives.
